The Soucouyant of the Caribbean region: Monsters of the World

This vampire has shapeshifting powers, and can strip off its human skin to turn into a fireball that can fly across the skies. It sucks its victim’s blood through the arms, legs, and other soft parts. Protect your home by scattering grains of rice all over. If you encounter its skin (while it is in fireball form), destroy it by pouring salt over it.
